and now we even have people replying to pictures of baby yoda with “i want this on a tshirt” knowing how ravenous disney is being with copyright in hopes to get the stores taken down altogether

Animal Rights Activists have fetishized suffering to the point of absurdity, especially going by the art in posts Instagram tries to push at me (no, comparing naked humans pulling a sled to sled dogs pulling a sled is not a valid comparison to make, sled dogs have insulating double coats and are often decked out in booties, jackets and leg warmers…).

When the assumed suffering isn’t actually there in the first place and they are told so or shown so, instead of breathing a sigh of relief and working to learn more about the industry or sport they double down on their position, they don’t listen to mushers, they don’t look with their eyes at the canine body language being displayed (happy and excited), they only see what they want to see which is suffering and anything else is a lie.

They use tragic accidents as jumping boards into discussions on how “cruel” the sport is and use images of animals involved in said accident as propaganda against the sport, they ignore the immense grief and suffering of the human being also involved in the accident that lost their buddies, co-workers, family.

They compare animal welfare issues to human slavery which is disgusting. They compare animal welfare issues to the Holocaust which is disgusting. But they’d also rather post graphic images online, brush their hands off like they’ve done something meaningful and go about their day than actually get involved in welfare reform that is actually helpful and impactful.

All of our welfare reforms have come from within, because when ARAs actually try to get involved in reform they don’t involve people in the sport or industry, they push legislation such as anti-tie out (sled dogs are escape artists and snow buildup can make pen containment more easy to escape) and anti-outdoor dog (sled dogs need to be outside to properly acclimate to the weather so they are not at risk when running, many sled dog breeds can easily overheat inside a house) legislation that is not only harmful to sled dogs, but to a wide variety of working and pet dogs that live fulfilled lives where being outdoors and being tie-out may be a portion of that life.

They seek to end a sport that is a crucial aspect of indigneous arctic life. They come at dog sledding from a place of whiteness and removed suburban blindness to rural people living subsistence lifestyles that have less impact on the environment than their own. They are willfully blind, fingers in their ears singing “LALALA I CANT HEAR YOU!” at the top of their lungs while they post fetishized gore porn to make their point and I am so tired of it.
